Project Overview
This client is in the legal industry where paid advertising can cost upwards of $300 a click! With that in mind, we came up with an SEO based strategy to optimize the client’s current content and create additional content targeting high volume search terms.
We were able to successfully increase the visibility of the client’s website. Specific Search Engine Optimization contributions included improving their on-site structure, applying specific keywords and linking strategies to boost search engine rankings, and strategically creating blog content to attract site traffic.
These efforts resulted in an improved website and almost doubled average monthly web traffic in a single quarter! And, we’re on track to double it again the very next quarter.
This digital marketing case study provides valuable insights into how Flowers Digital Marketing tactics such as SEO optimization and content creation can be used to maximize success not only in terms of web visibility but also in overall customer engagement on websites.
Interpreting Results
The above graph is directly from Google Search Console. It compares organic click performance from Q3 (July 1 – September 30) 2022 to the following quarter (Q4: October 1 – December 31). The graph compares total clicks, total impressions, and average position on a google search results page. The dotted lines are from Q3 and the Solid lines are from Q4.
As you can see, there was an immediate uptick in impressions when Flowers Digital Marketing got to work in Q4. This was due to optimizing current content and resubmitting to google to be recrawled. Once this happened, impressions saw a great deal of improvement, which led to more clicks. The clicks continued to grow as we added more strategic content and further optimized site structure, metadata, and link strategies.
Although the click-through rate did decrease, it is due to Q3 clicks coming mostly to branded search terms. Another interesting takeaway is that even though we created a 2.5x increase in impressions, we were actually able to improve the average ranking.
The benefit of Flowers Digital Marketing is even more evident when looking at the graph below. This shows the last 12 months of the client’s organic site traffic and the immediate impact that began in Q4. CTR is also improving relative to the above graph when data from January is included.
